Quick answer
What are CA fees in Delhi?
CA fees in Delhi depend on the service, the size and complexity of your case and the state of your records. ICAI publishes a recommended, not mandatory, minimum scale for Delhi as a class A city. In October 2026 online platforms advertised packages from about ₹399 for GST registration and about ₹1,499 for CA-assisted ITR filing, plus government fees.
- No legally fixed CA fee; each CA quotes for the scope
- ICAI minimum scale is a recommendation, last revised 2020
- Government fees are separate from the professional fee
- Ask for a written fixed quote before work starts
What decides CA fees in Delhi?
Five things set most CA fees in Delhi: the type of service, your volume of transactions, how many entities and registrations you have, how organised your records are, and how quickly you need it done. Experience and firm size also play a part, so two quotes for the same job can differ.
- Service type. A one-time registration is priced differently from monthly GST returns or year-round bookkeeping.
- Volume. A trader issuing hundreds of invoices a month needs more time than a consultant raising ten.
- Complexity. Capital gains, foreign income, multiple GST registrations or several group companies all add work.
- Record quality. Unreconciled bank statements or missing bills mean clean-up time, which is usually billed.
- Urgency. Work in the last week before a due date often costs more, and some firms refuse new work then.
- Who does the work. A partner-led review costs more than a package handled mainly by junior staff.
Does ICAI fix chartered accountant fees?
No. ICAI publishes a minimum recommended scale of fees for its members, graded by class of city, with Delhi in class A. The scale is a guideline, not a binding tariff, and the version widely cited was last revised on 11 February 2020, so treat its figures as dated.
The scale is useful as a reference point for what ICAI considers a reasonable minimum for professional work. In practice, Delhi fees for routine compliance are often set by competition, while specialised or reserved work such as audits and certificates is priced by each CA on scope. We do not reproduce the ICAI amounts here because we could not confirm the current official text; see the secondary summary at abcaus.in and check with ICAI.

What do online platforms charge for common CA services?

We list the lowest advertised starting prices we saw, without brand names, so you have a reference point when comparing quotes. A local CA's quote may be higher or lower; what matters is what the price includes.

What government fees are charged on top of the CA's fee?
Government fees are paid to the department or portal, not to the CA, and should appear as a separate line in any quote. Some registrations are free; others such as trademarks and company incorporation carry official fees or state stamp duty.
| Registration | Government fee | Source |
|---|---|---|
| GST registration | No government fee | Consultant sources; confirm on the GST portal |
| Udyam (MSME) registration | Free | Udyam portal |
| Startup India (DPIIT) recognition | No fee | Startup India portal |
| Trademark application (e-filing) | ₹4,500 per class for individuals, start-ups and small enterprises; ₹9,000 for others | IP India official fee table |
| Private limited company (SPICe+) | No MCA fee up to ₹15 lakh authorised capital, plus Delhi stamp duty (about ₹360 at ₹1 lakh capital) | Secondary sources; confirm on MCA |
| Company name reservation | About ₹1,000 | Secondary sources; confirm on MCA |

What are CA charges for ITR filing?
CA charges for ITR filing depend on your income sources: a salaried return with one employer is the simplest, while capital gains, business income, foreign income or NRI status add work. Online platforms advertised CA-assisted plans from about ₹1,499 plus GST in October 2026, with NRI plans priced much higher.
Ask whether the fee covers checking your AIS and Form 26AS, claiming deductions, and answering any processing notice later. For FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27), the due date was 31 July 2026 for ITR-1 and ITR-2 and 31 August 2026 for non-audit ITR-3 and ITR-4 (per secondary reports of the Finance Act 2026 change; confirm on the portal); the belated return window runs to 31 December 2026. Under section 234F, late returns attract a fee of ₹1,000 if income is up to ₹5 lakh and ₹5,000 otherwise, which often exceeds the CA's fee. See income tax return filing for details.
How do you get a fixed quote from a CA?
Give the CA a short written brief with your business type, turnover band, number of registrations, monthly invoice count and the exact services you want, then ask for a written quote that separates professional fees, government fees and GST. A clear brief gets you comparable quotes.
- 1
List the services
For example, GST registration plus monthly returns, ITR, TDS returns and annual ROC filing.
- 2
Share volumes
Monthly invoice count, bank accounts, employees and any special items such as exports or foreign income.
- 3
Disclose the state of your books
Mention any pending returns or unreconciled months so clean-up is priced up front.
- 4
Ask what is excluded
Notices, revisions, extra registrations and out-of-scope work are common add-ons.
- 5
Get it in writing
Ask for an engagement letter with scope, fee, payment terms and timelines.
Red flags when comparing CA fees
Be careful with quotes that look far below the market, hide government fees, promise refunds or outcomes, or come from someone who will not confirm ICAI membership. A cheap package that misses a due date can cost more in late fees than a proper fee would have.
- No written scope. Verbal quotes lead to surprise bills.
- Government fees bundled without a breakdown. You cannot check what was actually paid to the portal.
- Promised refunds or outcomes. No professional can promise how the department will act.
- Audit or certificate offered through an app. ICAI does not permit CA firms to take reserved work through aggregators.
- Unverifiable identity. A real CA can be found on ICAI's CA Connect portal.
- Fees per refund amount. Charging a percentage of your refund creates the wrong incentive.
Is a local CA in Delhi more expensive than an online platform?
Sometimes the starting price is higher, but a local CA's quote often includes review, reconciliation and follow-up that online base plans charge extra for. Compare the full scope for a year, not the headline price for one filing.
For a business with monthly GST, TDS and accounting and bookkeeping, continuity matters: one team that knows your books catches mismatches before they become notices. For a one-time job such as GST registration or private limited company registration, a package may be enough. Frequently asked questions
What is the average CA fee in Delhi?
There is no reliable published average because fees vary with scope and complexity. As reference points, online platforms advertised starting prices from about ₹399 for GST registration and about ₹499 a month for GST returns in October 2026, plus government fees. Ask for a written quote for your own case.
What are chartered accountant fees for GST return filing?
Monthly fees depend on invoice volume, number of GSTINs and whether reconciliation is included. Online platforms advertised plans from about ₹499 a month in October 2026, with annual plans also on offer. Confirm whether the annual GSTR-9 return is included or billed separately. Our GST return filing page explains the return types and due dates.
Are CA fees negotiable?
Usually yes, especially for ongoing work where the CA values a long relationship. You will get a better result by narrowing the scope, organising your records and committing to a year of work than by pushing on the rate alone.
Is ICAI's fee scale mandatory?
No. ICAI's minimum scale of fees is a recommendation for members, graded by city class, with Delhi in class A. The widely cited version dates from February 2020. Actual fees are agreed between you and the CA.
Why do CA fees for audit vary so much?
Audit fees depend on the size of the business, the number of transactions, stock, branches and the state of the books, and each practising CA sets them after assessing the work. Audit is reserved for chartered accountants, so get quotes directly from CAs you have verified.
Should CA fees include GST?
A CA registered under GST will add GST to the professional fee, so check whether a quote is inclusive or exclusive of it. Government fees paid to a portal on your behalf are separate from both.
Does CA in Delhi publish its own fees?
No. Each listed firm gives a fixed quote for an agreed scope before work starts. For reserved services such as audit and certificates we do not quote or route work, in line with ICAI's rules.
What is cheaper, a CA or a tax consultant?
A tax consultant may charge less for simple filings, but cannot sign audits or certificates, which only a practising CA can. For routine compliance, compare scope and accountability rather than the label alone.
