What does a CA in Delhi do for businesses and individuals?
A CA in Delhi keeps your tax and company records correct and on time. For a business that means registrations, GST and TDS returns, books of account, ROC filings and audits. For an individual it usually means filing the income tax return, planning tax and answering notices.
The split matters because the work, the paperwork and the fee are different. A salaried person in Rohini needs help once a year, around the return deadline. A trading firm in Wazirpur needs someone every month for GST, every quarter for TDS and every year for the accounts and the return. A private limited company also has Ministry of Corporate Affairs filings with ROC Delhi, and a statutory audit that only a practising chartered accountant can sign.
Some of this work is reserved for chartered accountants by law and by ICAI rules: statutory audit, tax audit, attestation and certificates such as a net worth certificate or Form 15CB. Registrations, return filing and bookkeeping are not reserved, which is why many firms that are not CA firms also offer them. How do you choose a chartered accountant in Delhi?
Choose a chartered accountant in Delhi on five things: verified ICAI membership, experience with your type of business, a written scope and fee, a named person who handles your file, and reachability near your deadlines. A big name matters less than a clear process.
Delhi has thousands of CA practices, from one-person offices in Pitampura to large multi-partner firms in Connaught Place. Most people ask friends or search online and pick the first number that answers. A better way is to judge every option against the same short list.
- Membership you can check. The CA should give you a membership number, and a firm should give you its firm registration number (FRN). Both can be checked on ICAI CA Connect.
- Experience with businesses like yours. A garment exporter, a Shopify seller and a software start-up have very different GST and income tax questions. Ask for the kind of clients the firm serves, not their names.
- Written scope. List the returns, filings and meetings covered for the year. Anything outside the scope, such as a notice reply, should have a stated fee.
- One named contact. Know who prepares your returns and who signs them. Ask whether a CA reviews the work before filing.
- Access to your own logins. GST, income tax and MCA logins belong to you. A good firm keeps you informed and returns them whenever you ask.
- Deadline habits. Ask how they remind you about due dates such as the 24th-day GSTR-3B deadline for Delhi taxpayers under QRMP.

How do I verify a CA or CA firm on ICAI CA Connect?
You can verify a CA in Delhi free on ICAI's CA Connect portal at caconnect.icai.org. Search by name, city or firm, then match the membership number or FRN the CA gave you with the record shown. If nothing matches, ask the CA to explain before you go further.
ICAI itself encourages members to use CA Connect as their listing portal, and its homepage notes that listing CA firms on matter-based aggregators does not conform to ICAI ethical norms. That is why CA in Delhi works as a directory and information site: it describes the listed firms factually and does not route CA-only work such as audits as paid leads.
- 1
Ask for the numbers
Ask the CA for their ICAI membership number and, for a firm, its firm registration number (FRN). A genuine practitioner shares these without hesitation.
- 2
Open CA Connect
Go to caconnect.icai.org and use the profile search. You can search by city, state and preferred services, as well as by name.
- 3
Match the details
Check that the name, city and firm on the record match what you were told. A firm address in Delhi should match the office you visit or the letterhead you receive.
- 4
Check who signs
For an audit or a certificate, confirm that the person signing is a practising member. Firms that are not CA firms cannot sign these documents.
- 5
Keep a record
Save the membership number and FRN with your engagement letter. You will need them for audit reports, certificates and future reference.
How much does a CA in Delhi charge?
CA fees in Delhi depend on the service, your turnover, the number of transactions and how organised your records are. Government fees are fixed and public, while professional fees vary from firm to firm, so compare written quotes for the same scope rather than headline prices.
ICAI publishes a recommended minimum scale of fees by city class, and Delhi falls in Class A. It is a recommendation, not a binding rate card, and the version commonly cited was last revised in February 2020, so check the current scale with ICAI. Online platforms advertise packages from about ₹399 for GST registration and from about ₹999 plus government fees for a private limited company (seen October 2026). Those prices often exclude follow-up work, GST on the fee and government charges.
We do not publish our own price list. Every firm listed here gives you a fixed quote for your exact scope before work starts. The full breakdown, with what pushes a fee up or down, is in our guide to CA fees in Delhi.

Which CA services does your type of business need in Delhi?
The services you need follow from how your business is set up and what it sells. A start-up needs incorporation and founder paperwork, a trader needs GST discipline every month, and a salaried person or NRI mostly needs a correct return once a year. The table below is a starting point.
Turnover thresholds matter. In Delhi, GST registration becomes compulsory once aggregate turnover crosses ₹40 lakh for goods suppliers (CGST Act section 22), and the commonly applied limit for service providers is ₹20 lakh. Since 1 April 2025, a micro enterprise under Udyam can have investment up to ₹2.5 crore and turnover up to ₹10 crore, which opens MSME benefits to many more Delhi firms.
Services usually needed, by type of client| You are | Usually need | Start here |

| A start-up founder | Private limited company, DPIIT recognition, trademark, GST, payroll set-up | Company registration in Delhi, Startup India registration |

| A manufacturer (Wazirpur, Narela, Okhla) | GST, Udyam, TDS, accounting, tax audit when turnover requires it | MSME (Udyam) registration, accounting |
| A salaried employee | Correct ITR form, tax regime choice, refund follow-up | ITR filing |
| An NRI with Delhi income or property | NRI return, TDS on property sale, Form 15CA and 15CB | NRI tax services |
| An e-commerce seller | GST registration, GST returns, IEC if you export | GST registration, import export code |
| A freelancer or consultant | ITR with business income, GST once services cross the limit | Sole proprietorship registration |

Which 2026 deadlines will a chartered accountant in Delhi track for you?
The dates that cause the most late fees in Delhi are the monthly GST returns, the quarterly TDS returns and the income tax return. For FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27), returns are still filed under the Income-tax Act 1961, even though the Income-tax Act 2025 took effect on 1 April 2026.
Missing the return deadline costs a late fee under section 234F of ₹1,000 if income is up to ₹5 lakh and ₹5,000 above that. GST late fees run at ₹50 a day (₹20 a day for nil returns), plus interest on unpaid tax. Full calendars are in our GST due dates and ITR due dates guides.
